Uranus has entered Gemini — just a brief visit for now, about three months. And since Gemini is such a curious and inquisitive sign, why don’t we get to know this fascinating planet a little better?
Amazingly, Uranus wasn’t discovered by an astronomer but by the famous musician William Herschel, who, besides music, had a passion for astronomy, mathematics, and optics.
Together with his brother, a mechanic, they built a telescope and began observing the stars. On March 13, 1781, Herschel noticed an unusual object. At first, he thought it was a comet, but soon realized it was a planet — one that lay beyond Saturn. Overnight, the boundaries of our Solar System doubled!
This discovery was a monumental event, something on the scale of discovering America or the first human spaceflights.
They named the planet Uranus, after the God of the Sky. Along with Uranus, two of its moons were discovered — Titania and Oberon.
Maybe that’s why, when Uranus exerts its influence on us, we feel like we’ve been cast into a Shakespearean play — full of mystery, unpredictability, rebellion, passion, trials, and transcendent wisdom.
And yes, Uranus is a rebel even physically — it’s the only planet that spins on its side, with its axis nearly perpendicular to its orbit. It’s as if the cosmos deliberately crafted a symbol for all those who refuse to simply go with the flow.
Uranus pushes our limits, shatters boundaries, and enriches us with new experiences — whether we’re ready or not. It’s the planet of awakening, consciousness, and subtle vibrations.
For the astrological community, the announcement of a seventh planet felt almost like yogis being told there’s a new chakra to explore!
For decades, astrologers debated how Uranus might influence practical astrology. But eventually, they welcomed this original newcomer into the system, assigning it all the qualities we now associate with it.
On April 25, 2026, Uranus will leave Taurus for good and enter Gemini, where it will stay until February 2032.
For Geminis, this marks the beginning of a time of Uranian change, adventure, and discovery.
